Palm Oil & Palm -Derived Ingredients

Role: Palm oil is widely used as a natural skin conditioning ingredient. Palm is a super-efficient and sustainable crop, but human irresponsible deforestation has caused significant impact on the environment.

We feel by creating a clear demand for sustainably produced palm oil is more effective than prohibiting palm oil usage. As such, we source from environmentally, socially, and ethically responsible manufacturer who is awarded the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certification and undertook to take legal ownership and produce or handle RSPO-certified sustainable oil palm products.

You should know that we are using COSMOS-standard as the guiding principle that rules the selection of each of our ingredients. This ensures the ingredients have no known harming effects on humans - no nasties, no naughties. And that the ingredients are truly sustainable and biodegradable. Wild and Gorgeous, as you do!

COSMOS

Role: As a non-profit international association, COSMOS has harmonised different certification guidelines in Europe to create a single, international standard for organic and natural cosmetics. It covers all aspects of the sourcing, manufacturing, marketing and control of cosmetic products.

The guiding principles of the COSMOS® referential are:

  • to promote the use of products from organic farming and to respect biodiversity;
  • to promote using natural resources responsibly while respecting the environment;
  • to promote the use of clean manufacturing processes that respect human health and the environment;
  • to promote the integration and development of the concept of “Green Chemistry”;
  • to ensure transparency for all consumers.

We follow COSMOS’ guiding principles as these are the strictest cosmetic regulation in the world and provide us confident to refer to its standard AISBL raw materials database in our ingredient selection process.
